“Mental pain is less dramatic than physical pain, but it is more common and also more hard to bear. The frequent attempt to conceal mental pain increases the burden: it is easier to say “My tooth is aching” than to say “My heart is broken.”
― C.S. Lewis, The Problem of Pain

From childhood and teenage years through adulthood. Why is Good Mental Health important?
Our mental health is not always constant. Everyone has been through what we call a Bad Day. We go through a period in life where it can be harder than usual. Our mental health can change as circumstances change in our lives. We often experience mental health problems throughout our lives than inherited from our parents. When you go through hard times or bad days your thinking, mood, and behavior could be affected within a microsecond. If we don’t have any control over how we react, think and handle over our daily lives when the thing gets astray it can lead to much serious Mental Health Problems (Mental illness). Mental health can affect our daily lives, relationships, and our physical health. You can develop an aggressive behavior and depression. Depression is a serious mental illness that has an impact on both physical and mental health e.g. suicidal thoughts, losing weight due to stress (losing appetite), gaining weight (finding comfort through food can lead to overweight) and self-harm (cutting oneself). Depression leads to addiction. Addiction can lead to an aggressive behavior. It can destroy a family that once loved one another. A family full of violence. When you are depressed and don’t reach out for help it can lead to loneliness. When you feel loneliness you can get involved in an unhealthy relationship to avoid feeling lonely. Losing your job, growing up feeling insecure, growing up in abusive parents, bullied, losing a family member and so many other life-changing hard times can happen. Understanding how important good mental health is in our daily lives helps us to have a good balance between stress and our mental health. Handle our stress and anxiety in a systematic way we learn through the process. Help us to adapt change and to cope with stress. Helps us to enjoy life more and help us interact with others.
